AEW Collision Results (9/6/24): All-Star Eight-Man Tag, Orange Cassidy, More

All Elite Wrestling delivered a star-studded show with a special Friday night episode of AEW Collision.

Among other matches, Bryan Danielson, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, and Claudio Castagnoli faced Jack Perry, Tag Team Champion The Young Bucks, and Kazuchika Okada.

AEW Collision Results

AEW Collision starts with a recap of Hangman Page setting fire to Swerve Strickland’s house on AEW Dynamite. The broadcast team highlights AEW All Out.

Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir are shown arriving backstage before the broadest team continues to run through the card for AEW All Out.

AEW Continental Contenders Challenge: Lance Archer vs. Mark Briscoe

Archer attacks Briscoe during his entrance. They brawl at ringside. Archer overpowers him and controls the action. The match gets in the ring, and Briscoe takes the fight to Archer. Briscoe is already busted open, Archer sends Briscoe tumbling to the floor. Archer continues to punish Briscoe at ringside. Briscoe rallies and dives onto Archer at ringside. He keeps rolling, but Archer again gains the upper hand as he slams Briscoe.

Briscoe and Archer continue to go back and forth. Archer grounds Briscoe and maintains the advantage. Briscoe fires up and drops Archer with a blockbuster on the floor. Archer rocks Briscoe with a boot and chokeslams him. He powerbombs Briscoe into the corner and slams him again. Briscoe keeps fighting and hits Froggy Bow for the win to qualify for the AEW Continental Championship match at AEW All Out.

Winner: Mark Briscoe

Backstage, Chris Jericho, alongside Big Bill and Bryan Keith, sends a message to The Conglomeration. They’re shown standing over Tomohiro Ishii, who has been laid out, and his neck is wrapped in a chair. A referee and Rocky Romero run in to check on him.

Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake & Zack Gibson) vs. Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) (with Jacked Jameson)

Iron Savages initially showcase their power, but the Grizz;ed Young Savages take control. Boulder and Bronson rally, but Drake chops out Boulder at the legs. The Grizzled Young Veterans send Boulder to the outside. Bronson rallies with a flurry of offense. Grizzled Young Veterans double-team Bronson and send him into the ropes. They hit Grit Your Teeth for the win.

Winners: The Grizzled Young Veterans

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) come out after the match. The two teams brawl, and FTR stands tall.

A video package hypes up AEW International Champion Will Ospreay’s match against PAC at AEW All Out.

Orange Cassidy Battles Bryan Keith

Backstage, Orange Cassidy says his schedule isn’t full, but his backpack isn’t, so he’s determined to win the AEW Continental Championship.

AEW Continental Contenders Challenge: Orange Cassidy vs. Bryan Keith

Cassidy takes the fight to Keith with a dropkick, sending him to the outside. He keeps rolling with two dives to the outside. Cassidy hits a third dive. He rocks Keith with a stiff shot to the face. Keith gains the upper and drops Cassidy with a boot after slamming his hand onto the steps. Back in the ring, Keith continues to control the action as he grounds Cassidy. Cassidy fires up with a flurry of offense. Keith and Cassidy trade counters. Cassidy nails Keith with a kick. Keith drops him with a throw. Keith throws Cassidy into the corner and slams him with a Michinoku Driver.

Cassidy rallies with a Stun-dog Millionaire and Beach Break. Keith rocks Cassidy with a stiff knee. Cassidy hits the Orange Punch and a spinning DDT. He gets the win with a diving DDT.

Winner: Orange Cassidy

Backstage, Chris Jericho congratulates Orange Cassidy. He says he’s going to take something from Cassidy, as Orange still owes him $7,000. He says he’s going to keep Cassidy’s backpack until he gives him his money. Jericho teases that he has a big pair of scissors, so he should choose wisely.

Backstage, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné is asked about Kamille getting banned from her match at AEW All Out. She says that Kamille is not banned tonight, so fans should keep watching to see what happens when you mess with “Moné”.

The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) (with Erica Leigh) vs. Davey Bang & August Matthews

Matthews and Magnum start the bout. The Outrunners take control and double-team Matthews. Floyd hits a vertical suplex. The Outrunners double-team him and hit a double elbow drop. They hit Total Recall for the win.

Renee Paquette interviews Kris Statlander and CMLL World Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale ahead of their Chicago Street Fight. Statlander is asked about turning on Nightingale, and she explains her actions. She says no one was there for her when she lost the TBS Championship, and Nightingale never gave her a rematch. Nightingale responds by emphasizing how she supported Statlander.

Statlander reiterates that Nightingale never gave her a rematch and says it’s always been about Willow. They continue to go back and forth, and Statlander storms off.

Konosuke Takeshita Faces The Beast Mortos On AEW Collision

AEW Continental Contenders Challenge: Konosuke Takeshita vs. The Beast Mortos

Takeshita and Mortos trade blows, and they’re evenly matched early on. Mortos drops Takeshita with a powerslam. Takeshita sends Mortos over the ropes and dives onto him. Mortos drills Takeshita with a stiff shot. Takeshita and Mortos keep battling, and both men go crashing off the top rope. Takeshita gains the upper hand and controls the action. He drops the powerhouse with a DDT. Takeshita maintains the advantage.

Mortos blasts Takeshita with a headbutt and hits him with a backbreaker. He gets a two-count with a Samoan drop. Mortos rolls through a German suplex. Takeshita hits a Blue Thunder Bomb. They battle on the top rope, and Mortos slams Takeshita crashing to the mat. Mortos drops Takeshita with a Spear. Takeshita and Mortos again trade stiff blows, and both men are rocked after a headbutt. Takeshita hits a crucifix bomb and a running knee. He hits the Raging Fire for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

Backstage, Saraya, alongside Harley Cameron, calls out Jamie Hayter and makes it clear she’s frustrated that Hayter ruined her moment at AEW All In. She says that Hayter will get a match with them soon. Cameron says Saraya is in a lot of trouble.

In a promo backstage, AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May comments on her title win and says she gets off on fights. She says she hasn’t shaken hands with anyone in the locker room. May notes that she still hasn’t had her championship celebration, but AEW All Out is tomorrow, teasing that it will be there.

Hikaru Shida Faces Deonna Purrazzo

Hikaru Shida vs. Deonna Purrazzo

Shida and Purrazzo feel each other out early on. They trade pin attempts, and they’re evenly matched. Shida takes control, but Purrazzo sends her shoulder and head first into the turnbuckle. Purrazzo grounds Shida and controls the bout. Shida rallies and catches Purrazzo with a diving dropkick. Purrazzo takes Shida down and traps Shida in an arm-bar. Shida fires up and catches Purrazzo in a submission hold.

Purrazzo and Shida trade strikes. Shida floors Purrazzo with a Falcon Arrow. She clinches the win with the Katana.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

After the match, TBS Champion Mercedes Moné comes down the ramp and distracts Shida. Kamille attacks Shida from behind. Kamille holds Shida, and Moné goes to hit her with the Katana, but Shida moves, so Mercedes hits Kamille. Shida drops Moné with the Katana and stands tall.

Backstage, FTR are asked about Grizzled Young Veterans attacking them. Dax Harwood says Grizzled Young Veterans remind him of FTR. He challenges the Grizzled Young Veterans to face them next week.

In an interview, The Acclaimed discuss their recent run and say their road to the tag team titles continues. MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden) interrupt, saying that nobody wants them in AEW. MxM Collection looks forward to their match against House of Black. The Acclaimed say that everyone loves The Acclaimed, and they walk away.

All-Star Eight-Man Tag Team Match

Bryan Danielson, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, & Claudio Castagnoli vs. The Elite (Jack Perry, Tag Team Champion The Young Bucks & Kazuchika Okada)

Danielson and Perry square off. Perry lures Danielson into his corner, and The Elite briefly gangs up on him. Danielson fights back and tags in Castagnoli. Yuta and Castagnoli double-team Matthew Jackson. Wheeler Yuta slams Nicholas Jackson and hits him with a senton. PAC maintains the advantage. Matthew Jackson takes control, but PAC lights him up with a series of strikes.

Castagnoli hits a double stomp on Matthew. Danielson keeps rolling with a diving knee to the back. Yuta and Castagnoli double-team him. The match breaks down into chaos as the teams brawl. PAC and his team continue to control the action. Matthew tags Okada, who grounds PAC. The Elite isolate PAC. The two teams start brawling again. The Elite maintain the advantage. Perry drops PAC with a neckbreaker. PAC rallies and tags Castagnoli, who clears house with a flurry of offense. Nicholas Jackson dishes out superkicks. The Young Bucks take control.

Castagnoli rallies and tags Danielson. Danielson and Perry go back and forth. Danielson drops Perry, but bodies start flying as the competitors take turns entering the ring. The AEW World Champion hits a shotgun dropkick. The match spills into the AEW Rampage broadcast.

Eight-Man Tag Continues

Danielson fires up, but Perry catches him with a dropkick. Okada hits Yuta with a dropkick. Yuta eats a double superkick from the Bucks, but Castagnoli breaks up the pin after a Tombstone. PAC rallies with a dive to the outside. He hits a springboard 450 splash on Okada. Okada and Danielson trade blows. PAC and his partners gang up on Okada. They continue to control the action.

Yuta, Castagnoli, and PAC dish out stereo piledrivers. Yuta and Castagnoli double-team Nicholas. Danielson chases Perry into the crowd and to the back, taking them out of the match. The Young Bucks hit Yuta with the EVP Trigger. Castagnoli swings Nicholas Jackson, and Yuta dropkicks him for the win.

Winners: Bryan Danielson, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, & Claudio Castagnoli
