Paul Heyman speaks highly of WWE’s women’s division.
During an appearance at a Power Players event for Bloomberg alongside Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman was asked about how WWE could grow their female audience. First, he joked that everyone should take a look at Roman Reigns. He then complimented WWE’s women’s division, both as athletes and performers. “We have in WWE right now what is the equivalent to when the Williams sisters (Serena and Venus Williams) came onto the tennis court,” Paul Heyman said. “We have the greatest female roster in the history of this industry. And they’re not just there for sex and appeal,” Heyman said.
“The women here are not only magnificent athletes, they have acting chops as well. And you won’t find it anywhere else. You’ll either find great actresses or you’ll find great athletes. And here, you find the marriage of them both.”
Paul Heyman has been absent since The Bloodline took him out in June. There is no word on when he will return to WWE programming.
WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE SmackDown as it airs on September 6.
