Paul Wight Hopes To Return To The Ring, Says Tony Khan ‘Paid Me A Shit Ton Of Money’ To Wrestle

Paul Wight wants to get back in action.

Paul Wight has dealt with injuries throughout his time with AEW. He has primarily worked as a commentator, along other backstage roles, throughout this process. He returned to the ring in late 2023, and he competed on the November 15 episode of AEW Dynamite. However, he has not wrestled since the Jericho Cruise in January. He later revealed that he had both knees and hips replaced.

Speaking on Downunder The Ring, Paul Wight expressed his hope to return to the ring. He noted that Tony Khan paid him a lot of money to compete, and he had not done much of that yet.(H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling for the transcription)

“God, I hope so (I can get back in the ring) because Tony Khan paid me a sh*t ton of money to get in the ring and so far, I haven’t done sh*t so,” Paul Wight said.”… I did, I did (take a bump onto a car). Then right after that, I went and got my knee replaced. Thanks Will Hobbs (he laughed).”

As of this writing, there is no word on when Wight will return to the ring. WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
