Meiko Satomura wants to see Giulia do what she couldn’t in NXT.
Giulia made her buzzworthy debut in NXT at NXT No Mercy, as she confronted Roxanne Perez. The newcomer is is set to challenge Prez for the NXT Women’s Championship on the CW premiere of NXT.
Giulia will be hoping that she can fare better than Meiko Satomura. The Japanese legend wrestled Roxanne Perez in a title match at NXT Roadblock 2023, following their non-title fight a year prior.
Meiko Satomura lost that bout, failing to take home the NXT Championship. With her fellow countryman now in the spotlight, she is cheering on Giulia to end Roxanna Perez’s reign as champion.
Meiko Satomura spoke with Tokyo Sports about Giulia’s debut in NXT. While she failed to dethrone Roxanne Perez as the NXT Women’s Champion, she said that wants to see her fellow Japanese star go one better and beat her.
“I want Giulia to beat the opponent I was unable to beat last time and wear that belt.”
Meiko Satomura Is Dream Rematch For Roxanne Perez
Meiko Satomura is a match Roxanna Perez wants before next year.
Roxanne Perez spoke with Stephanie Chase about her dream matches in wrestling (H/T to P.T. Williams of Wrestling Inc. for the transcription). She labelled Giselle Shaw and Meiko Satomura as her dream opponents, wanting a rematch with the later before she retires.
“I’m very excited for them to come over here.” Roxanne Perez said. “I’ve seen a lot of amazing matches from both of them. I definitely think that they’re going to help elevate our division… But I think everybody needs to make sure that they know I’m the NXT Women’s Champion. So, whoever comes, I’m ready. I’m so ready.”
“I don’t exactly know what the future holds, but anything can happen in the WWE. Gisele Shaw, she’s amazing. She’s so talented… I can say so many things about her, but amazing is one of them. So yeah, Gisele Shaw, come and get it.”
“Meiko Satomura, she was my dream opponent, probably since I was about 16 years old. Coming into the WWE right away and getting two matches against her within a few months of me being there was just insane… I am sad to see she is going to be retiring next year, but I really, really hope I get to have just one more match.” Roxanne Perez added.
