The Rascalz earned a title shot on the September 3 episode of WWE NXT, setting the stage for a championship match.
TNA X-Division Champion Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel, collectively known as The Rascalz, won a Number One Contender’s Match on Tuesday. They beat Gallus and Hank Walker and Tank Ledger in a Triple Threat match. Joe Coffey tried to interfere and help Gallus, but Je’Von Evans took him out. The Good Brothers then got involved and cost Walker and Ledger the match. Wentz scored the win after a double-team move on Ledger.
The broadcast team confirmed that The Rascalz would challenge for the titles on the September 10 episode of NYT. They will challenge Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the gold.
Backstage, The Rascalz interrupted Axiom and Nathan Frazer and said they would beat them next week. Wentz said that they would bring the titles to TNA. He also questioned whether Axiom and Nathan Frazer were on the same page.
Wentz defeated Wes Lee at NXT No Mercy and called out the NXT tag Team Champions. Ava then announced the Number One Contender’s Match for September 3.
Axiom and Frazer regained the titles by defeating Chase U at NXT No Mercy.
