The WWE Intercontinental Championship Number One Contender’s Tournament Finals have been set.
During Monday’s episode of RAW, the final two qualifying matches were held in the tournament that would determine four competitors who would advance to the finals of the title’s tournament, which will be a Fatal Four-Way Match held next week on RAW.
Each of the matches featured three superstars in a Triple Threat Match, with the first seeing Dominik Mysterio, Dragon Lee, and Ilja Dragunov competing. Mysterio actually nearly came away with a win here, but was ultimately interrupted by Damian Priest, who came running down to chase Mysterio away from the match and into the back.
In the ensuing chaos, Dragunov was able to win after hitting his finisher on Dragon Lee.
The second match saw Braun Strowman, Ludwig Kaiser, and Sheamus taking each other on. Strowman was a late replacement for Bronson Reed, who was forced to skip the match after a positive COVID-19 test.
Despite still being injured from being put through a car last week by Reed, Strowman walked out on top. That match came to an end after Pete Dunne appeared to stop Sheamus from winning, allowing Strowman to hit a huge running powerslam on Kaiser.
With all matches done, next week’s Number One Contender’s Tournament will now see Jey Uso, Dunne, Dragunov, and Strowman all competing for a shot at Bron Breakker’s belt.
