Drew McIntyre On Pushing Boundaries: I’m Willing To Take Chances, Get Fined Or Fired

Drew McIntyre is willing to get fired for what he says on the air.

The Scottish star has constantly pushed the boundaries of what is acceptable in the WWE in recent months. His rivalry with CM Punk has seen both men cross lines. This includes Drew McIntyre writing rude words on fans’ hoodies, calling Punk a “cancer,” and saying other less-than-savory things.

This led to two heated matches, most recently in a strap match at Bash in Berlin. While Punk came out the winner in that match, Drew McIntyre held nothing back in the build up.

Drew McIntyre spoke with the Gorilla Position ahead of Bash In Berlin, where he was asked about if he has free reign for what he says on the microphone now.

The former WWE Champion revealed that he has to stay within his times, but generally says whatever he wants. Drew McIntyre is prepared to get fired for what he says, as long as he can say he did his best to move the story forward.

“You obviously got to stick to your time.” Drew McIntyre said. “Stay within the confines of the story. But I go out there a lot of the time, and a lot of times I get a slap on the wrist for something I do. But I’m willing to take chances. I’m willing to get in trouble, I’m willing to get fined. And honestly, I’m willing to get fired.”

“As long as it is on my shoulders and I can say I gave it my all, whether I was wrong or right, it feels good to know that it was on me. It’s such a collaboration. It’s on all of us. And you see the results with how WWE is doing right now. We’re on fire.” Drew McIntyre added.
