Rumor Killer On WWE Moving Performance Center To Las Vegas

Some reports suggested that WWE is moving the Performance Center to Las Vegas, but an update dismisses the rumors.

On August 27, WrestleVotes reported that, according to a source, President and COO of TKO Mark Shapiro held an all-employee meeting at WWE Headquarters, where it was revealed that the WWE Performance Center would be moving to Las Vegas in the near future.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer then tweeted that Las Vegas would be a developmental location, and it may be “replacing Orlando or in addition.”

Update: Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select then reported that, per WWE sources, the claim of the Performance Center moving to Las Vegas was false. Sapp cites one source who said that the aforementioned meeting did not happen, unless another was held. Plus, other sources said that Shapiro did not make an announcement about a move to Las Vegas. No sources at the Performance Center had heard of any such move.

Meltzer then noted that those in WWE said that Shapiro talked about the growth of Las Vegas as a sports market in recent years and that WWE should have a presence, rather than saying that developmental was moving there.

WWE previously opened the Performance Center in Orlando in 2013. In recent years, it has been the home off NXT television tapings as well.

WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
