WWE SmackDown Draws Lowest Viewership Since June On 8/23

WWE SmackDown saw a decrease in viewership on August 23.

According to Wrestlenomics (via Programming Insider), SmackDown averaged 2.050 million viewers on Friday. The show drew a 0.56 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. These numbers are down from last week’s episode when an average of 2.252 million viewers tuned in. The demo also dropped from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.61 rating in the same demographic. 

Per Wrestlenomics, SmackDown’s total viewership on Friday marked its lowest number since June 14. The demographic marked the show’s lowest number since July 26. SmackDown still ranked #1 in primetime in the demographic on Friday.

What happened on WWE SmackDown this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Cody Rhodes on the Grayson Waller Effect. This set up the main event with Rhodes and Kevin Owens taking on A-Town Down Under.

LA Knight once again defeated Santos Escobar to retain the WWE United States Championship. Knight teased holding an open challenge at Bash in Berlin later this month.

Elsewhere on the show, The Bloodline defeated the Street Profits to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. Solo Sikoa gave Jacob Fatu’s title to Tonga Loa and “promoted” him to The Bloodline’s enforcer.

The main event saw Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens defeat A-Town Down Under to end the show.
