One of the most popular heels in professional wrestling right now is Christian Cage. He is a two-time TNT Champion and is also one-third of the current AEW World Trios Champions.
Recently, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Matt Hardy shared his thoughts on Christian Cage and his run as a heel. While speaking on the recent episode of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the former WWE Superstar mentioned Christian Cage is committed to his role and embraces being the a**hole.
“The first word is committed. Because Christian is one of the elites when it comes to being a heel in pro wrestling. He, more than almost anyone else I can think of, he is open to relinquishing his fear of being an asshole. He doesn’t care, he goes out, he’s happy to be the asshole, he plays the asshole through and through. He’s not an online person trying to score brownie points with fans. [Christian] doesn’t care what they think.
“He has a gig, he has a shtick, he has a bit that he is doing. He is Christian Cage. And as a heel, that’s where he thrives. That’s where he’s at his absolute best and whenever he does it, he really does go out and he absolutely relinquishes all of his fear of being viewed as an a**hole.
