There is reportedly no estimate for Kenny Omega‘s return as the former champion continues to recover from surgery.
Omega has been out of action since December, as he went down with diverticulitis. He returned to AEW in May, and he made a special appearance on AEW Dynamite. However, he was taken out when The Eite attacked him. Omega then underwent surgery.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer writes that Kenny Omega still has some pain, but he is training with moderate intensity. Per Meltzer, Omega is not expected to wrestle again any time soon, as he still has weakness in his abdominal area due to the surgery, and he can’t start taking bumps yet. Meltzer writes that there is no estimate regarding his return.
Additionally, Meltzer reports that Kota Ibusi is looking to return to AEW once Omega comes back. Ibushi will return to the ring at the DDT event on August 25, but he has said that AEW is still his home.
WrestleZone wishes Kenny Omega well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
