CM Punk teases a match with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and expresses his interest in facing The Rock.
Steve Austin recently teased making an appearance at WWE WrestleMania 41. This led some fans to buzz about a potential match between Austin and Punk.
During an appearance at Fanatics Fest NYC Live, CM Punk was asked about potentially facing “Stone Cold” at WWE WrestleMania 41.
“That would be up to Steven. It’s not up to me,” CM Punk said. “I think he had a pretty good return, came back, main-evented WrestleMania. At this point, his six shooters might be buried in the Nevada desert. But if he wants to dig them up, I’m your huckleberry. It should have happened ten-plus years ago. If he wants to go to sleep, he can call me.
CM Punk was also asked whether he wanted to face The Rock. He expressed his interest and said he could face Rock and Austin on the two nights of WrestleMania 41.
“Sign me up,” Punk said. “They were just asking me about Steve Austin. WrestleMania is two nights. Give me Steve one night, give me Rock night two [laughs], let’s go. Let’s do it.
The Rock’s WWE return run ended the RAW after WrestleMania 40, as he noted that he had to go away for a while, but he teased that he would be coming back for Cody Rhodes. In recent months, he was filming his new movie, The Smashing Machine. However, filming recently wrapped. There is currently no word on when he will return.
