Tony Khan Says He Has Not Met With Shane McMahon Since Initial Conversation

Tony Khan discusses meeting with Shane McMahon and says that they have not spoken in person since then.

Speaking on The Dan Le Batard Show, AEW CEO Tony Khan was asked about meeting with Shane McMahon, and he noted that it remains the only time that they have met in person. He was also asked about the picture of the meeting getting leaked.

“That was the first time we ever met,” Tony Khan said. “Yes, that is the only time we’ve ever met. Not since, no. It’s been a very busy time since then, on many, many levels. So that’s the only time we’ve met in person. I really enjoyed talking with him. I didn’t not place that call from inside the house. Somebody did just pop in [and take the photo]. It was kind of weird.”

Tony Khan: It’s Not Top Secret, I Just Wanted To Talk

Tony Khan continued by noting that he thought that someone who worked at the airport took the picture. He then reiterated that he just wanted to talk to McMahon, and he enjoyed their conversation.

“I think somebody who works at the airport [took the picture]. We were just talking in the airport lounge, having a really nice chat,” Tony Khan said. “Somebody just walked in and, ‘Oops, sorry,’ and then walked away. I think that’s probably what it was. It’s not like a top-secret thing. I just wanted to have a nice conversation with him. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about him, we have a bunch of mutual friends, and we were both in Dallas.

“They said you guys should meet up, so we met up at the airport, and it was a nice talk, and I thought he’s a very respectful and respectable person, and somebody I really enjoyed talking to.”
