In an alternative universe, Randy Orton could have portrayed the role of Cable instead of Josh Brolin in Deadpool 2.
WWE Superstar Randy Orton was a recent guest on What Do You Wanna Talk About? with Cody Rhodes. While discussing their ventures into Hollywood, Orton revealed he had auditioned for the role of Cable in Marvel’s Deadpool 2. The role was eventually given to Josh Brolin.
“So I do auditions here and there and I remember I got an audition early on when I finally got some representation in that industry and I think Deadpool 2. Cable. I read for Cable and in my head, boy, I was gonna be Cable,” Randy Orton said. “I was gonna be Cable and I was like, mhm, this is it. Nope. No callback, no nothing. ‘Yeah, thanks.’ Josh Brolin gets it.
“Of course Josh Brolin gets it. Kills it. I don’t know what the f*ck I’m doing, and I think I kind of realized then, like, oh, okay. So I can send in these auditions but, I’m a pro wrestler, and I think I really enjoy being a pro wrestler and everything that it’s given me and I don’t think I’ll ever leave this place. [laughs]” [H/T: POST Wrestling]
Brolin also went on to play Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
