Afa The Wild Samoan (Afa Anoa’i) Passes Away At The Age Of 81

WWE Hall of Famer Afa Anoa’i has passed away at the age of 81.

Samu Anoa’i shared the news in a post on Facebook.

Afa, a member of the Anoa’i family, had a legendary career in the wrestling world. He had a memorable run alongside his brother Sika, as they competed as The Wild Samoans. The duo won titles in various promotions. They worked for the WWF for several years, and they held the WWF Tag Team Championship three times. Afa returned to WWF for a few stints amid some time in Mid-South Wrestling and Jim Crockett Promotions. In his later run, he managed The Headshrinkers. Afa retired from the ring in 1994. Alongside Sika, he went on to become a trainer at the Wild Samoan Training Facility.

Afa and Sika were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007. They were also inducted into the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012.

Afa and Sika appeared at WWE Hell in a Cell 2020 to celebrate Roman Reigns’ victory against Jey Uso.
