Penta El Zero Miedo dismissed gossip and called AEW his present. Plus, a new report provides an update on the Lucha Bros.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful then (via Fightful Select) reported an update, noting that the Lucha Bros’ potential move to WWE has been tumultuous so far. Sapp cited his previous report that Penta had told some close to him that he had talks with WWE. He had hinted that he did not want to go to NXT. He was also said to have indicated that he and Rey Fex were a package deal.

Per Sapp, WWE sources that that the package deal aspect would not be an issue, as the company had been interested in Fenix anyway. Furthermore, Sapp cited sources close to Penta who said that he claimed he would be in Orlando this week. However, he did not specifically say that he would be visiting the WWE Performance Center.

More Details

The report also cited AEW sources who noted that they suspected that something like this had happened. Sapp wrote that AEW offered the Lucha Bros a new deal that was supposed to be the same as what Penta had acclaimed WWE was offering.

Sapp also emphasized that the details have not been confirmed. He cites sources who noted that Penta claimed that his AEW deal had already expired. However, he is still on the AEW roster page. Some sources also said that the company could potentially add injury time to the Lucha Bros’ deal.

Additionally, Sapp cited multiple sources who said they believed that Penta was pushing back on reports so that Fenix would be able to leave AEW more freely.

WrestleZone will provide more information on the Lucha Bros’ status as it becomes available.
