Kimberly Page Reflects On Role In The 40-Year-Old Virgin

Kimberly Page had a lot of fun filming The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

The former WCW star had a small role in the 2005 comedy, starring Steve Carell as the titular virgin. She appeared during the speed dating scene in the film, as the The Office star got flustered watching one of her breasts slowly fall out of her top.

It was a small moment in Kimberly Page’s fleeting film career. However, the former Nitro Girl has nothing but fond memories of appearing in the movie.

Kimberly Page spoke with The Hannibal TV about her role in The 40-Year-Old Virgin. She spoke about how fun it was on set, and cited Judd Apatow letting them improvise as a big reason for that. She also mentioned how everyone had stomach aches at the end of the day. This wasn’t due to bad food, but instead due to how hilarious Steve Carell was during his scenes.

“Oh my gosh, such a fun, fun film to work on, and it was a blast. Judd Apatow is just this fantastic director who really kind of runs his scripts as improvisational opportunities,” she said. “We didn’t have a strict script; we’d get a story outline for the scene, but the idea was to improvise on set. There were a number of takes that would happen.”

“I had been on set all day. My short scene took very little time, but I was on set all day. All of the speed dating scenes were shot that day, and everybody had terrible stomach aches because we were laughing so hard at Steve Carell. Every single take, he would bring something new to the performance—it was just a riot.”

Kimberly Page: We Would Die Laughing While Filming The Movie

Kimberly Page continued to talk about her role in the movie. She said she felt the humor was “sucked out of the room” when she had her scene with Steve Carell. However, she praised the comedian, as he helped break the ice. Kimberly Page called him unbelievable, and she said the scene became one of the funniest parts of the movie.

“Then it was my turn, and it got weird and quiet. I thought, ‘Oh no, this is awful,’ because they were going to do the topless bit. They had to put up curtains, and I was like, ‘Oh no, all the humor and good energy has just been sucked out of here.’ But Steve was unbelievable. He was like, ‘Okay, we’re going to loosen up, break the ice, and get this situation back on track.'”

“We did about 20 or 25 takes of that one scene, and every single one was different. The out-takes—you would die laughing. The stuff that came out of that man’s mouth was just so extra. Everybody was in stitches, including myself.”
