Kayla Braxton discusses her WWE departure.
The June 28th episode of WWE SmackDown marked Braxton’s final WWE show, as she announced that she would be wrapping up with the company. She had been with WWE since 2016, and she had primarily worked as a host and interviewer.
Kayla Braxton opened up about her WWE exit while speaking on the Nikki & Brie Show. She was also asked whether her contract had expired. Braxton noted that she was under contract, but she felt like she had done everything she could with the company. (H/t Jeremy Lambert of Fightful for the transcription)
“I was under contract,” she said. “Announcers, we operate very differently. I just realized, within myself, after eight years; I’ve done everything I can do here. You know how the schedule is at WWE. It’s very hard to (accomplish) anything else you want to do. I just felt like I was starting to miss out on opportunities outside of the company.
“I wasn’t doing much anymore at my former position, [and] I just had to make the decision, not knowing necessarily what I was about to do in that moment, but I had to walk away. It was all amicable, I just knew it was time for me to peace out.”

After her final WWE show, Braxton took to social media and thanked her WWE family. She said that she would miss them, but they would see each other again.
