Wes Lee betrayed his friends on WWE NXT.
On the August 6 episode of WWE NXT, Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz challenged Axiom and Nathan Frazer for the NXT Tag Team Championship. This came amid the reunion of The Rascalz across NXT and TNA in recent weeks. Zachary Wentz and Trey Miguel have appeared on NXT, while Lee has crossed over to NXT.
In a thrilling match, Axiom and Frazer emerged victorious and retained the gold. The Rascalz regrouped after the bell. Miguel and Wentz were overcome with emotion, but Wes Lee shockingly superkicked Miguel. He then turned on Wentz and hit him below the belt. Lee proceeded to viciously attack both of the Rascalz. He slammed Miguel into the barricade and hit double knees on Wentz into the steel steps.
Wes Lee and Zachary Wentz are former NXT Tag Team Champions. They never lost the titles in their second reign, as Wentz was released, so the championships were vacated.
As part of the Rascalz reunion, Wes Lee competed at TNA Slammiversary. There, The Rascalz beat NXT’s No Quarter Catch Crew. Lee, Wentz, and Miguel previously beat Axiom, Frazer, and Je’Von Evans to earn a title shot.
