WWE NXT is hitting the road.
In a tweet, Shawn Michaels expressed his excitement about bringing NXT on the road for the first two episodes of The CW era. He stated that NXT would be held in Chicago on October 1 and in St. Louis on October 8. Specifically, the Chicago show will be at Allstate Arena. The October 8 taping will be held at the Enterprise Center. More information is available here.
In his post, Shawn Michaels said that NXT had been on fire, but with the move to the CW, it would be a whole different animal.
This marks a major step for NXT. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the show has primarily been held at the WWE Performance Center. However, the brand has returned to the road for premium live events. Most recently, Heatwave was held in Toronto. In September, No Mercy will be held in Denver before Hersey, Pennsylvania, hosts Halloween Havoc in October.
WWE’s Official Announcement
WWE then issued a press release about NXT hitting the road. The company announced that CM Punk would appear at the Chicago show, and Randy Orton would be at the St. Louis taping.
The press release also highlighted NXT’s growth under Shawn Michaels, as the average viewership in the 18-49 demographic was up 20 percent.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
