Triple H says it’s hard to find anyone more deserving than Gunther.
At WWE SummerSlam, Gunther won his first world title in WWE, as he dethroned World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest.
At the WWE SummerSlam Post-Show, Triple H praised Gunther following his title win.
“Tough to find a more deserving guy right now than Gunther,” he said. “He’s just playing on a different level than a lot of people with his own style and he’s very unique, what he brings to the table. He’s in the spot he’s supposed to be in.”
Triple H On Damian Priest
In addition to Gunther, Triple H also spoke highly of Damian Priest. He stated that he proved his doubters wrong. Triple H also noted that Priest faced a hard road, and his hat was off to him.
“Damian Priest, I said this to him after the match,” Triple H said. “When he became world champion, a lot of people doubted him. I think over this period of time since WrestleMania, he has proved them all wrong. He walked in as a guy like, ‘Ah, they put the world title on him.’ He walked out as world champion, really as world champion. My hat’s off to him because that’s a hard road. Lot of pressure, and coming off all the things that he’s been through in his life to be where he is right now, thrilled for him.”
