AEW Collision Results (8/3/24): All Star Eight-Man Tag Match

AEW Collision Results – August 3, 2024

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with The Patriarchy coming to the ring. Christian Cage says he hates it here and he has a private plane waiting to get him out of this hell hole. Cage says they did exactly what they promised they would do and became AEW Trios Champions.

Cage says he’s using these titles as a path to becoming the AEW World Champion. Christian makes fun of the terminology between belts and titles. Cage says he’s going to present The Patriarchy with their titles. Cage says he’s so proud of Nick Wayne and the leaps and bounds that he’s grown since he’s been with him. Christian says he’s special and a prodigy as the youngest champion in the history of AEW.

Christian presents Wayne with his title and hugs him. Cage says Killswitch is what he’s asked him to be, his finisher. Cage says he’s the muscle who does all the dirty work when it’s needed and he appreciates him. Christian says The Patriarchy doesn’t work without him and hugs him. Cage says he didn’t give birth to a prodigy and presents the other Trios Title to Mother Wayne as the crowd boos loudly. Killswitch places a hand on Cage’s shoulder, but before anything can happen Malakai Black and Brody King make their way to the ring.

House of Black arrives on AEW Collision

Cage calls Brody King Jelly Roll and tells them they can’t lay claim to a title shot because they aren’t a trio and after what he did to Buddy Matthews they won’t be for a long time. Cage says they didn’t come out to challenge for the titles, they came out because everything he touches turns to gold. Christian says Black came out looking for fatherly advice.

Cage wants to know what they were thinking. Malakai Black says this as the lights go out. When the lights return, Buddy Matthews is standing with the House of Black and The Patriarchy runs away. As they try to go up the ramp, Bullet Club Gold comes out. Most of The Patriarchy escape through the crowd. But when Nick Wayne tries to escape the same way he’s jumped by Kip Sabian.

Wayne is tossed in the ring and gets beat up by both teams before Bullet Club Gold and House of Black face off with one another.

Can Sammy Guevara be trusted?

Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs are backstage. Rhodes says it’s been a very emotional couple of weeks. Dustin says to step into the ring with a family he’s watched since he was a child, the stars have aligned. Rhodes says they are Texas’s best as ROH Six Man Tag Team Champions. The Von Erichs say to have that kind of payoff was the greatest night of their career and the Rhodes/Von Erich era has officially begun.

Sammy Guevara shows up and says he and Dustin have a long history and he may not trust him. Rhodes tells Guevara trust is earned. Guevara says he’s been stuck in a vortex long enough and he wants to be his own man. Guevara says he wants to earn all of their trust and team together in AEW. Rhodes and Guevara shake hands.

Raising the stakes for Dynamite

Fletcher gets on the mic after the match and says MJF is probably scared after what he just saw him do to Brian Cage and there’s a chance after they face off on Dynamite that Friedman won’t make it to Wembley.

Kyle dares MJF to put the AEW American Championship on the line Wednesday so he can go ahead and be the one to face Ospreay at All In. MJF appears on the screen and makes fun of Fletcher’s accent. Friedman says he’s salt of the earth and gives Fletcher an Eliminator match on Wednesday. If Kyle defeats MJF on Dynamite, he’ll get a future title shot.

Max Caster says if FTR really loved AEW, where were they when Acclaimed was in Blood and Guts last week? Caster says Harwood’s body can’t hold up to the grind and Wheeler isn’t good enough to be on TV when Dax isn’t around.

Anthony Bowens says they are giving their bodies for this company and they don’t give a shit about FTR’s legacy. Bowens says Acclaimed is homegrown and says FTR doesn’t get to cut the line to face the Young Bucks for the tag titles. Bowens says they are undefeated against The Acclaimed and they all start brawling. Mark Briscoe tries to be the peacemaker and says this is what The Elite wants.
