Cody Rhodes and Solo Sikoa upped the stakes for their match at WWE SummerSlam.
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes kicked off the August 2 episode of WWE SmackDown. Rhodes called out Sikoa, his opponent at WWE SmackDown. Rhodes noted that he almost admired what Sikoa had done in his quest to take over as the new “Tribal Chief”. However, he vowed to make Sikoa pay for taking out Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Rhodes also referenced how he beat Roman Reigns in a Bloodline Rules match at WWE WrestleMania 40.
Sikoa responded by saying that when Cody Rhodes beat Reigns, he was a weak “Tribal Chief.” Sikoa said that, by comparison, he was dangerous, and he would prove that at WWE SummerSlam. He then brought up the Bloodline Rules stipulation and suggested that they should add it to their title match.
Cody Rhodes Is Not Afraid
Cody Rhodes responded by addressing Solo Sikoa’s Bloodline stablemates. He said that he was not afraid of Tanga Loa. He then referenced his history with Tama Tonga and said that he was not scared of him. Rhodes also made it clear that he was not afraid of Jacob Fatu before he accepted the challenge. Finally, he told Sikoa that he was not the “Tribal Chief” as a last shot to get under his skin.
WrestleZone will have coverage of WWE SummerSlam as it airs on August 3.
