One of the rising stars in WWE NXT is No Quarter Catch Crew’s Tavion Heights. Heights is set to compete at the N-1 Victory of Pro Wrestling Noah. He has previously wrestled in Japan when he represented the United States of America at the 2020, Summer Olympics.
Tavion Heights was interviewed by Yahoo Japan. During the interview, the NXT Superstar mentioned that he is really looking forward to competing in NOAH’s N-1 Victory.
“I’m really looking forward to it. The last time I came to Japan was for the Tokyo Olympics and it really feels like fate.”
Tavion Heights also praised the match AJ Styles had against Naomichi Marufuji at the NOAH Nippon Budakon event. Heights called it a ‘work of art.’
“I thought I absolutely had to see it. Of course, one reason was that I was going to Japan soon, but I thought it was a work of art. These two legends just brought out all the techniques they’ve used in their careers up to now, and gave it their all, and I thought that this fight was truly a work of art.”
Tavion Heights on which wrestler he is looking forward to wrestling against the most
“I think my first opponent (Titus Alexander) has a similar style to mine, so I’m looking forward to it. Another wrestler I’m interested in is Kenoh. I think he’ll raise my level.”
Heights believes that wrestling Titus Alexander could improve his fighting skills a lot.
“I think fighting him will help me raise my level tremendously.”
Heights also shared the advice that he received from the leader of the No Quarter Catch Crew Charlie Dempsey.
“I was told that I wouldn’t be able to beat the strong Japanese wrestlers unless I practiced hard and prepared well. I was taught that I had to train every day and adapt to the culture and environment when I got to Japan.”
The NXT Superstar also shared that he will judge decide whether to be the babyface or a heel bassed on the reaction from the fans.
“First of all, I want to see the reaction of the spectators, the Japanese fans, and adapt to that. If that’s what the Japanese people want, then I think I’ll become a really bad guy.”
Heights is determined to win the N-1 Victory.
“I’m going to participate in N-1 Victory with the determination to absorb everything I wasn’t able to experience or was not satisfied with last time in Japan, and win!” Tavion Heights said.
Not only Heights but also Josh Briggs of NXT will be taking part in the N-1 Victory event. The N-1 Victory will commence on August 14th.
