Ronda Rousey is open to potentially coming back to the WWE.
The former Women’s Champion hasn’t been seen in the company since Summerslam last year. Ronda Rousey wrestled long-time friend Shayna Baszler at the event, losing in a match that garnered a mixed reception from fans.
Since then, she has made occasional appearances at indie shows, which included a match in Ring of Honor. With the release of her book, all of Ronda Rousey’s views on the WWE came to the forefront. She said something drastic would need to change before she came back to the WWE, and apparently, it has.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Ronda Rousey revealed she could return to the WWE. She noted that with Vince McMahon now gone, she would be open to the idea. However, it would have to be a part-time role, due to her second child currently being on the way.
“I mean, now that Vince McMahon’s gone, I could definitely be convinced.” Ronda Rousey said. “I’ve been hearing great things from the ladies of how it’s been under Triple H’s regime. So, I could be convinced to go back but I couldn’t be full-time like before. I’m gonna have another baby coming and there’s no way I could be on the road. It was so difficult just to take Po on the road for that time. And I gotta start putting my family first.”
Ronda Rousey Used Writing To Deal With Last WWE Run
Rousey felt her last WWE run was “needless stressful”, and writing her book helped her through it. While speaking with Bill Pritchard of WrestleZone to promote her graphic novel, Expecting The Unexpected, last month Rousey revealed that her last run with the company was too stressful, which pushed her towards writing. She began writing both a screenplay and a graphic novel, giving her refuge from a tough time in her career.
“Even though I had so many matches that I very much enjoyed and had a great time, when I look back on it, I don’t really think of the joy that I had in those matches and those live shows, or that I had so much fun,” Ronda Rousey said. “I just think of the anxiety of never knowing what was going on until the very last minute, not being allowed to prepare, and getting our time cut over and over and over again.
“The experience itself was so needlessly stressful. I think that’s what drove me so hard towards screenwriting and graphic novels. This story is kind of like a refuge from that. I know that things are a lot different now. I’ve heard from the girls that it’s so much better, but it’s kind of hard to shake that and be excited to come back like I was before.”
