CM Punk weighs in on the debate.
For years, fans have often argued over whether LeBron James is better than Michael Jordan. Both stars have led their teams to multiple championships, and they were arguably the best player in the league during their primes. Kobe Bryant is also brought up during the discussion for the same reasons.
Speaking on ESPN’s First Take, CM Punk was asked about the debate as to whether Michael Jordan or LeBron James was better.
“No, no contest, come on. Really? [Asked if it’s Jordan] Yeah, 100%,” CM Punk said. “I think the NBA is played, and especially officiated, a lot differently, in 2024 than it was in the ‘90s, when the Bulls had their dynasty. I think MJ’s possibly, he’s up there with Gretzky as the guy when you mention a sport. When you mention basketball, you mention Michael Jordan.
“I would say Kobe is a closer comparison to Michael Jordan than LeBron. But people all have their opinions. I love LeBron too.”
It’s worth noting that Michael Jordan played for the Chicago Bulls for most of his NBA career, and CM Punk is from Chicago.

CM Punk On Saying How He Feels
CM Punk’s comments are sure to be polarizing. That’s nothing new for the WWE Champion, as he’s used to controversy. During the interview, Punk noted that he was polarizing, and he shared his belief as to why.
I’m very polarizing for some odd reason. [Asked why] I tend to say how I feel, to a fault. I stand up for myself. A lot of people don’t like that. There’s always friction. I will be as polite and as kind to anybody as I possibly can, and when they step out of line, I’m kind of the guy who checks them.”
