CM Punk: If WWE Was The Way It Is Now, I Wouldn’t Have Left Ten Years Ago

CM Punk comments on how different WWE is now.

CM Punk walked out of WWE in 2014, and he largely left wrestling until he signed with AEW. After his turbulent run there, he returned to WWE at WWE Survivor Series 2023. A lot had changed since his first run, as Triple H had taken over as the head of creative.

Speaking with Ringside Collectibles at San Diego Comic-Con, CM Punk was asked about how one could feel how different WWE was these days, compared to his previous run.

“Yeah, absolutely, to a point where I almost don’t like talking about it because everyone thinks I’m just toeing the company line,” CM Punk said. “But no, if this place was the way it was now, I wouldn’t have left ten years ago. That’s the most basic way I can explain it.”
