Naomi looks back on her return to WWE and says it felt like a relief.
Naomi returned to WWE at WWE Royal Rumble 2024. She previously left the company after she and Mercedes Moné walked out of the company in 2022.
Speaking on WWE – Die Woche, Naomi reflected on her return to WWE and stated that it was a relief following the backlash that came following her departure. (H/t Andrew Thompson of POST Wrestling for the transcription)
“Oh! My gosh. That too felt like a relief,” Naomi said. “Just all the negativity that surrounded the walkout and everything that Mercedes (Moné) and I experienced. It just felt like a big weight off my shoulders to be back home, to be accepted back home and just to have the opportunity to continue where I started and finish the story, my journey. Ha! ‘Finish the story.’ No pun intended with that one.
“Just to have the opportunity to end my career where I started and finish things the right way and reconnect with my WWE fans and just to push through that entire time in my career. It just felt really, really, really special and really good to be back, and the crowd and people made me feel that, even backstage. It was like, I was a little nervous but, it feels like I never been away.”
