MJF Throws AEW International Title In The Trash, Unveils AEW American Title On AEW Dynamite

MJF has introduced the AEW American Championship and trashed the AEW International Championship.

On the July 17th episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF defeated Will Ospreay to win the AEW International Championship. MJF kicked off the July 24th episode and celebrated his win. He said that he had not forgotten about the world title, and he was waiting for the right time to pounce. MJF stated that it was laughable that fans thought that Ospreay could beat him. He brought up Ospreay’s grandmother passing away and said that he could dig a grave next to her.

MJF then criticized the AEW International Championship and said that the legacy of workhorses defending the title was a joke, as he stated that working hard was for “poors.” He claimed that he deserved a title worthy of his superior intellect, bank account and upbringing. He then threw the AEW International Championship in the trash.

MJF proceeded to unveil the AEW American Championship and called himself America’s hero. He continued to celebrate as a flag with his face on it in place of stars came down. Ospreay crashed the celebration and told MJF that he would get his rematch at AEW All In. He then fished the AEW International Championship out of the trash.

This marks another change in the lineage of the AEW International Championship. It was introduced as the All-Atlantic Championship in June 2022 and renamed the International Championship in March 2023.
