There has been a new update in Janel Grant’s lawsuit against WWE.
In January, Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, and WWE, alleging that she was “the victim of physical and emotional abuse, sexual assault and trafficking at WWE.” The lawsuit has continued to progress, though it is on a six-month stay due to the federal investigation.
Per Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics and John Pollock of POST Wrestling, Janel Grant’s lawyers filed a petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. Grant claims that, at Vince McMahon’s direction, she was sent to Colker’s clinic, starting in November 2019, and she received treatments that “weren’t disclosed to her, including pills and I.V. infusions.”
Grant alleges that, when she asked Coker about the pills she was being given, Colker responded by questioning Grant’s trust in him.
Janel Grant’s Attorneys’ Statement
Per Thurston and Pollock, Grant’s attorneys wrote the following:
“On multiple visits, Dr. Colker prescribed Ms. Grant with “adrenal trays” or “adrenal supplement trays,” provided by his office and instructed her to take the unmarked pills daily. Dr. Colker did not explain the substances, dosages, or purpose of the pills to Ms. Grant beyond purportedly addressing her symptoms of fatigue. When Ms. Grant asked Dr. Colker about the substance of the supplement trays, and specifically which substance(s) caused her to experience nausea, he responded with pushback about trust, including, “If you don’t trust me, we have bigger problems.”
Grant’s petition also states that Colker “routinely treats employees and talent of World Wrestling Entertainment”.
The petition notes that Grant is seeking medical records that are related to her lawsuit against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, and Grant’s attorneys state that the records provided so far are “incomplete and inaccurate.”
“For example,” the petition states, “there are billing records that do not have a corresponding medical record, medical records that do not have a corresponding billing record, inconsistent billing rates, and double charges.”
Furthermore, Grant alleges that an employee of Peak Wellness was involved in “in several instances of sexual abuse against Ms. Grant by McMahon as further described in Ms. Grant’s federal complaint.”
More Details
Grant’s initial complaint claims that Vince McMahon pushed her to see a physician, who is named “Celebrity Doctor” in the complaint, and this individual allegedly was recruited to engage in threesomes with McMahon and Grant. Grant alleges that McMahon pressured her into these sex acts and others. It has not been confirmed whether this individual and the related clinic is Colker and Peak Wellness.
Grant’s new document claims that Colker was aware of the nondisclosure agreement between Grant and McMahon and the circumstances surrounding it.
Additionally, Grant alleges that Colker suggested that she should work with his attorney. It was noted that Colker’s attorney previously helped her negotiate the non-disclosure agreement with McMahon.
Update: a spokesperson for McMahon issued the following statement:
“Ms. Grant’s petition for pre-action discovery against Dr. Colker is a direct violation of the court-ordered stay, and nothing more than an attempt to generate publicity on her false allegations and to harass people connected to Mr. McMahon.”
