Daniel Garcia: You Deserved The Main Event, But I Need This Way More Than Will Ospreay

Daniel Garcia is ready to take on Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite.

The AEW star is set to battle Ospreay for the AEW International title on Wednesday. If the English had beaten Swerve Strickland at Forbidden Door, then that match would also have been for the AEW Championship.

Sadly, Daniel Garcia was in the stands as he watched Swerve retain his title in the UBS Arena. After the event, Daniel Garcia cut an impassioned promo on AEW’s Twitter account., warning Ospreay that he needs the title way more than him.

Garcia noted that, while Swerve vs Ospreay deserved the main event, he deserved something in AEW. This could be the title, if he can take advantage of a disappointed Ospreay on Dynamite.

“There you have it. Forbidden Door 3 just ended. They’re tearing down the ring. I was in a suite watching one of the greatest wrestling matches I’ve ever seen in my life. Swerve Strickland vs Will Ospreay. Will Ospreay, I have you this Wednesday, and I was hoping it was gonna be for the world title and the International title. But you couldn’t get the job done, so now I just got to take your international title from you.”

“Don’t get me wrong. You guys deserved the main event. I wasn’t on the card and you guys deserve the main event. I promise you, you do. But I think maybe I deserve something too, and I think I deserve the International title at this point.”

“All of my lost opportunity that I’ve had at AEW is all on my fault. I take full accountability for every opportunity that I’ve lost, but I promise you I’m not losing another one. I will hold gold in AEW if it is the last thing that I do in this company. All the nights that I’ve laid in bed, staying up late, thinking, praying to Jesus if I am on the right path. It will all make sense this Wednesday when I take the International title from you, Will. With all due respect, I need this way more than you do.”
