Je’Von Evans discusses his friendship with NXT Champion Trick Williams.
At NXT Heatwave, Trick Williams will defend the NXT Championship against Je’Von Evans, Shawn Spears, and Ethan Page.
Speaking on Under The Ring, Je’Von Evans was asked about Trick Williams, and he discussed their friendship.
“That’s my brother. For my tryout, I came, I went to him, I shook his hand. I thought he didn’t know who I was. He was like, I know who you are, bro. Just do you. Turn up.’ Ever since then, it’s honestly just been, like we’re close,” Je’Von Evans said. “I ask him for advice, and he asks me for advice. His reign, it’s been good to me.
“He’s been fighting for that title, and once he won it, everybody was happy in the back. I gave him a hug. I was like, ‘Hey, it’s your time.’ He said, ‘No, it’s your time, or your time’s about to come.’ I said man, it’s not about me right now. I want you to enjoy this.”
