AEW Collision Results – June 29, 2024

This week’s episode of AEW Collision kicks off with tag team action as Orange Cassidy teams up with Tomohiro Ishii.

Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii defeated TMDK (Shane Haste and Robbie Eagles)

  • Orange Cassidy hits Robbie Eagles with Beach Break to score the pinfall victory.

The Learning Tree is backstage, and Chris Jericho continues to give everyone bad advice.

NJPW STRONG Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer defeated Lady Frost

  • Mercedes Moné comes out to watch the match at ringside, angering Stephanie Vaquer in the process. Vaquer hits Lady Frost with a package backbreaker to score the pinfall victory.

Mercedes Moné confronts Stephanie Vaquer in the ring, and Vaquer exits. This allows Vaquer’s tag partner Zeuxis. Moné eventually gets the better of her but Vaquer returns and hits Moné with the package backbreaker as well before posing with both titles.

Serena Deeb defeated Kelly Madan

  • Serena Deeb hits Kelly Madan with Deebtox to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Deeb gets on the microphone and knows she lost her shot at the title but refuses to be lost in wrestling purgatory. Deeb says AEW is where the best wrestle, and she’s one of the best. Deeb begs AEW to give her someone on her level. Riho comes to the ring and faces off with Deeb. After a brief faceoff, Deeb smiles and walks away.

The Learning Tree finds their partner for Forbidden Door on AEW Collision

After multiple Learning Tree segments, Jericho and the company are finally attacked by HOOK, Samoa Joe, and Katsuyori Shibata backstage. The six men brawl to the ringside area and get into the ring. Jeff Cobb hits the ring and lays out HOOK and Shibata before going face-to-face with Samoa Joe. Cobb takes down Joe as well with a massive spinebuster and aligns with The Learning Tree ahead of Forbidden Door.

A video package plays, hyping up the match between Orange Cassidy and Zack Sabre Jr. at Forbidden Door.

Orange Cassidy is backstage with Lexy Nair. Cassidy says things aren’t going great for him right now, and his world is falling apart. Cassidy says he has a match with the technical wrestler in the world tomorrow, and he didn’t even bother to show up to watch his match against TMDK. OC says ZSJ doesn’t respect him.

Zack Sabre Jr. comes in and says he respects him, and that’s why he challenged him. Sabre Jr. says he didn’t need to watch his match because he knows his tricks and has waited a year to beat him. Cassidy says Zack just waited a year for him to beat him with his hands in his pockets. Things get intense, but cooler heads prevail, and both men walk away.

Hechicero defeated Kevin Blackwood

  • Hechicero locks Kevin Blackwood in a hold and wins the match via submission.

Bullet Club Gold confronts The Patriarchy

Christian Cage and The Patriarchy are backstage. Cage says they are set on getting the AEW Trios Titles. Cage says as the uncrowned AEW World Champion he deserves as such and says they are the next Trios Champions. Bullet Club Gold shows up, and Jay White asks if Cage has apologized to his family for setting such a poor example by saying he quits.

White takes shots at Mother Wayne, Killswitch, and Nick Wayne. White says Cage wants to ride his coattails so he can reignite his career, but Switchblade’s spotlight burns too brightly for him.

Daniel Garcia defeated The Butcher

  • Daniel Garcia hits The Butcher with a piledriver to score the pinfall victory.

Garcia raises The Butcher’s hand after the match and they both walk out together.

Will Ospreay is backstage with Lexy Nair. Ospreay says he can wait 24 hours before he caves Swerve Strickland’s head in. The Don Callis Family comes in, and Don says they have great ideas for tomorrow. Ospreay says he said it last week, he wants to do this on his own.

Callis says that’s fine. Ospreay asks Kyle Fletcher if he can be at ringside with him tonight for the weigh-in and Callis says that’s fine. Fletcher and Ospreay leave while Callis says everything is fine. A hand grips Don’s shoulder, and as the camera pans out, it’s revealed to be RUSH.

A commercial airs promoting Brodie Lee’s Reebok sneaker which will go on sale July 1 at Champs Sports.

Christopher Daniels lays down the law to Jack Perry

Jack Perry is backstage. Perry says he never agreed to team up with anyone tonight and he’s not going to do it because he only teams with The Elite. Christopher Daniels comes in and says if Perry wants to back out of the match, that’s his decision, but there will be repercussions, and they would involve removing him from tomorrow’s TNT Ladder match at Forbidden Door. Daniels tells him to make whatever decision he thinks is best before leaving.

Hikaru Shida defeated Deonna Purrazzo to advance in the Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament

  • Hikaru Shida hits Deonna Purrazzo with the Kitana to score the pinfall victory.

After the match, Purrazzo attacks Shida. Thunder Rosa makes the safe before Purrazzo can do any serious damage.

A video package plays, hyping Jeff Jarrett’s participation in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Jarrett will face The Elite’s Wild Card this Wednesday on Dynamite.

Jack Perry, Konosuke Takeshita, and El Phantasmo defeated Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, and Lio Rush

  • Konosuke Takeshita hits Dante Martin with a V-Trigger to score the pinfall victory for his team.

All six men attack each other after the match, and only Mark Briscoe is left standing.

It’s time for the weigh-in on AEW Collision…

Prince Nana hosts the weigh-in on the stage and introduces Will Ospreay. Ospreay weighs in at 220 pounds. Prince Nana then introduces the AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland. Strickland weighs in at 230 pounds. Ospreay says they are ushering in a new era tomorrow, and the best wrestler in the world will be the new AEW World Champion.

Strickland says all the pressure is on Ospreay. Swerve says Ospreay dresses like a bum and brings up his wife again, which leads to the two men getting physical. In the end, Ospreay lays out Swerve with the Hidden Blade and poses with both titles as AEW Collision goes off the air.
