Matt Sydal shows the extent of the work that he got done on his foot.
On June 14, AEW wrestler Matt Sydal announced that he would be undergoing surgery. He stated that he had been suffering for 12 years, but he would be getting his foot fixed. Sydal wrote that the surgeon had to “break and re-fuse three bones, and use hardware to set my toes into the joints.”
In a tweet on June 28, Matt Sydal thanked the AEW medical team and Florida Orthopedic for “saving” his foot. He shared a picture of an x-ray that showed he had screws and nails inserted into his foot. In the post, he wrote that the picture only showed a portion of the work that was done.
Sydal last wrestled on the May 22 episode of AEW Dynamite, where he lost to Konosuke Takeshita. As of this writing, there is no word on when he will return to the ring.
WrestleZone wishes Matt Sydal well in his recovery, and we will provide more information as it becomes available.
