AJ Francis has seen a lot of success since getting released by WWE.
Francis is currently signed with TNA Wrestling. A few weeks ago, at TNA 20th Anniversary show, Francis challenged Laredo Kid to a one-on-one match for the TNA Wrestling Digital Media Championship. Francis managed to defeat Kid to capture his first singles title in TNA Wrestling.
This past Thursday night on TNA Impact, DJ Whookid showed up to give a small present to AJ Francis. It was the Canadian International Heavyweight Wrestling Championship. Francis loved the title, and reminded Rich Swann and Whookid about the history behind the title. After saying so, Francis claimed himself to be the new International Heavyweight Wrestling Champion.
“This right here, is a piece of history. The International Wrestling Championship. Man, this goes back to 1935. I bought it, straight cash, from Gino Brito. The thing is, before PCO was a monster, he was a man. And that man wanted this title. And I can’t blame him. It’s been held by Lou Thesz, Killer Kowalski, Mad Dog Vachon, The Sheik, Abdullah ‘The Butcher’, and last but certainly not least, Dino Bravo. And now, because I own it, I’m declaring myself the new International Wrestling Heavyweight Champion. They call me Dolla Two Belts,” AJ Francis said.
