TNA iMPACT Results (6/27/24): Nic Nemeth Takes On Rich Swann

TNA iMPACT Results – June 27, 2024

This week’s episode of TNA iMPACT kicks off with a recap of last week’s episode.

Gia Miller is in the ring and brings TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace to the ring. Jordynne Grace says Ash by Elegance has been watching her for months and has been desperately trying to get her attention. Grace is giving Ash a title shot, and she’s giving it to her tonight. This brings out the personal concierge who introduces Ash by Elegance who is surrounded by security.

The personal concierge says that Grace didn’t read the fine print, and it’s not taking place tonight; it’s taking place at Slammiversary. Ash by Elegance will be taking time off in the Bahamas since until the show since the contract has already been signed.

Ash sends her security to the ring to attack Jordynne Grace, and she kicks all of their asses. Santino Marella comes out to try and calm Grace down so they can get on with the show.

Masha Slamovich (w/ Alisha Edwards) defeated Xia Brookside

  • After a distraction from Alisha Edwards, Masha Slamovich hits Xia Brookside with the Snowplow to score the pinfall victory.

Another championship introduced on TNA iMPACT?

AJ Francis and Rich Swann are backstage with DJ Whoo Kid. Francis tells Whoo Kid TNA has changed a lot since the last time he was there. Joe Hendry put his hands on him, but they took care of him, and now he’s the new TNA Digital Media Champion.

DJ Whoo Kid presents Francis with the International Heavyweight Championship. Yet, for some reason, Francis said he bought it, and since PCO wanted it so bad when he was a human, he’s declaring himself the new champion because he paid for it. AJ says after tonight, Rich Swann will be one step closer to becoming a two-time TNA Heavyweight Champion.

Spitfire is backstage, and are curious as to why Lars Frederiksen called them together. Lars says just because they won last week doesn’t mean the work stops now, and they need to double down and get psychological. Lars says they need to play mind games and overcome it. He declares the final test will be the two of them facing each other.

Mustafa Ali delivers a State of the Union Address

Campaign Singh is in the ring and introduces Mustafa Ali to deliver his State of the Union Address. Mustafa Ali says he had Campaign Singh launch an investigation regarding the video, and it’s been determined that it was fake and AI-generated. Ali says it wasn’t him and he would never lie and belittle his hometown of Chicago. Ali says Chicago is number one; a lot of those things are crime-related, but they’re still number one.

Mustafa Ali gets annoyed by some fans in the crowd and demands that they be ejected from the building. One fan throws a drink at him, and Ali attacks him, dragging him over the barricade and into the ringside area. Ali tosses them into the ring and continues to pummel him as security tries to calm Ali down.

The fan is eventually saved by Speedball Mike Bailey and the two men brawl at ringside. Mustafa Ali angrily demands a shot against Bailey at Slammiversary for the X-Division Championship.

ABC defeated The Rascalz and the team of Cody Deaner and Jake Something in a three-way tag match

  • Ace Austin hits Cody Deaner with The Fold to score the pinfall victory for his team.

The System is backstage. Alisha Edwards says Santino Marella is trying to stack the deck against them, but they will always be the champions. Eddie Edwards says it doesn’t matter who they put in front of them; they’re going to prevail. Brian Myers says they are the most dominant faction in professional wrestling and this run is never going to end. Moose says he isn’t worried about his match, and at Slammiversary, they will prove why you should always trust The System.

The Road to Slammiversary series continues…

Steve Maclin defeated Sami Callihan in a Road to Slammiversary match

  • Steve Maclin hits Sami Callihan with the KIA to score the pinfall victory.

KUSHIDA defeated Alan Angels

  • KUSHIDA locks Alan Angels in the Hoverboard Lock to win the match via submission.

Jonathan Gresham attacked KUSHIDA from behind after the match. Gresham tried to put the ink in KUSHIDA’s mouth but was stopped by security before he could.

The Hardys and Reby Hardy are backstage. Matt Hardy announces that he and Reby will take on Eddie and Alisha Edwards in Philadelphia. Jeff Hardy says the Hardyz will compete in the land of Extreme but doesn’t name their opponents.

It’s time… for the main event!

  • Nic Nemeth hits Rich Swann with Danger Zone to score the pinfall victory.
