Tony Schiavone Reveals He Lost His Voice During AEW Dynamite

Last night was the go-home episode of AEW Dynamite before the third edition of the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. The show kicked off with former AEW World Heavyweight Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman, MJF.

AEW Color Commentator Tony Schiavone always plays a key part of the commentary desk. As usual, he was part of the team from the start. But then as the show progressed, Schiavone was nowhere to be found. Taz also joked about Schiavone’s absence claiming that he had gone to the back and might have some duties backstage.

Tony Schiavone was last heard from as the opening segment came to an end. MJF and Daniel Garcia were having a moment, but that was seemingly ruined by Will Ospreay. He laid out a challenge to Daniel Garcia, putting all his championship gold on the line, jumping the gun a bit by saying that he will also put the AEW World Heavyweight Title on the line as well. Ospreay will be challenging the current champion Swerve Strickland for the AEW World Title this Sunday at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view.

As the abovementioned segment ended, Schiavone was nowhere to be found. A fan took to Twitter to question Tony’s absence.

“Anyone know what happened to @tonyschiavone24?? Where’d he go? #AEWDynamite,” A fan tweeted.

Schiavone took note of the tweet and replied by stating that he had lost his voice and thus had to head back. Tony Schiavone also mentioned that he had been facing this issue throughout the weekend.

“Lost my voice. It was giving me problems all weekend. Thanks for asking,” Tony Schiavone said.

We at Wrestlezone wish Schiavone a speedy recovery.
