Hiroshi Tanahashi will team up with The Acclaimed at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, and they will face The Elite.
The Acclaimed have been feuding with The Young Bucks for weeks, and the duo beat the reigning AEW World Tag Team Champions in an Eliminator Match on the June 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.
On the June 26 episode of AEW Dynamite, The Acclaimed came to the ring and discussed their win over the Young Bucks. They vowed to beat them for the titles when they clashed in a championship match. The Young Bucks and Kazuchika Okada interrupted and challenged The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn to face them at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
Gunn noted that he would love to compete, but he knew how to deal with EVPs, and he knew a president. NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi appeared on the video screen and revealed that he would team up with The Acclaimed to face The Elite at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
