In recent weeks, The Acclaimed have been feuding with AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks. The two teams finally clashed in an Eliminator Match on the June 19 episode of AEW Dynamite.
Everyone else was barred from ringside, so the two teams clashed on a level playing field. The Young Bucks tried to cheat to win, but their efforts backfired. Nicholas accidentally Matthew with an AEW Tag Team Championship. The Acclaimed then scored the win with The Mic Drop.
With the win, The Acclaimed earned a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championship. AEW did not announce when the bout would take place.
