IYO SKY Set To Return To Japan For Dream Match At Marigold

IYO SKY will return to Japan for a dream match.

On June 11, Utami Hayashishita defeated Nanae Takahashi in the main event of Marigold‘s latest show from Korakuen Hall. After her victory, Hayashishita was then greeted with a major surprise from Marigold owner Rossy Ogawa.

With Marigold’s Summer Destiny event on the horizon, Ogawa confirmed that the former World of STARDOM Champion will come face-to-face with another former World of STARDOM Champion – that being IYO SKY. SKY, currently signed to WWE, revealed herself as Hayashishita’s Summer Destiny opponent via a video message.

In directing Hayashishita, SKY stated that she wanted to “write history” with their match at Summer Destiny. Hayashishita, however, wants to do even more than that. Specifically, Hayashishita intends to not only write history with SKY, but also thoroughly prepare her heart and “bring everything” she has to SKY.

With the match made official by Ogawa, Hayashishita and SKY will now pivot their attention to the July 13 Summer Destiny event. This will mark the first ever in-ring meeting between the two, as SKY signed exclusively to WWE mere months before Hayashishita made her professional wrestling debut in 2018. Summer Destiny will also mark SKY’s first match in Japan since teaming with Mayu Iwatani at STARDOM’s Goddesses Of Destiny event in June 2018.

Elsewhere on the Summer Destiny card, Sareee will be take on Giulia, who is reportedly set to join the WWE NXT brand in the near future.
