WWE Raw interviewer Jackie Redmond shares how important Paul Heyman has been in her career in pro wrestling so far.
Redmond recently shared her thoughts on how helpful The Wiseman Paul Heyman has been.
While speaking on Sportsnet 590 – The Fan, Jackie Redmond shared her thoughts on Paul Heyman. She claimed that Heyman was a genius and is a student of the game.
“So, pre-current role at WWE, I just thought Paul Heyman was one of the most entertaining people in wrestling. And I think most people view him that way. I thought he was a genius then. Just watching him you know… Formulate words, put speeches together, you know… really orchestrate an entire scene even when he’s not the person speaking. So, I’ve always admired him from afar. But going into WWE, I was nervous to meet Paul Heyman. I still am very intimidated by him. But what I’ve learned, he is like most people that are the best at what they do, he is a student of what he does. And he studies so much. Not just within wrestling, but outside of wrestling to perfect his craft.”
Paul Heyman always gave Jackie Redmond feedback helping her improve
Redmond also shared that for every broadcaster, feedback is the most important thing that can help he or she improve. Paul Heyman always gave her that feedback.
“And I first started, and he gives me feedback all the time which I love. For any aspiring broadcasters out there, feedback is your best friend. Good and bad, like, you need it. I mean, he gives me that. I find it harder to get, the more I go on my career, get honest feedback and he gives it to me. But one thing that I’ll never forget. I had only been on Raw for a few weeks at this point, he sat me down in Gorilla and he put… And I wish I could remember the name of the song…
“But, he pulled up an iconic Prince performance. And I think it was from the 80’s. And he said, ‘Watch this with me and I want to show you how this, the brilliance of this man is…’ You can’t say enough about Prine. He said, ‘Watch the way that this man controls the audience.’ He has them the whole way, he makes them a part of it, he’s like a conductor. And I sit through this whole performance with Paul Heyman.”
Jackie Redmond advises people to go watch Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame speech
The broadcaster of the Red brand also wanted people to watch Paul Heyman’s Hall of Fame Speech.
“And I walk away going, ‘He’s not Prince. But this is what he does.’ And how does he figure out how to do it? He looks at some of our greatest artists of our time. And says how do they perform? How do they keep an audience over an eight-minute performance, or a concert, or a one song? I guess it blue my mind that this man at this stage of his career still looks at things like that about how to be better and how to perfect something that he’s already so good at. Then he had his Hall of Fame speech. Anyone out there that has not watched it, go watch his Hall of Fame speech. He had the crowd start to finish,” Jackie Redmond said.
