A new report provides an update on Chad Gable‘s contract status, as both WWE and AEW are interested in him.
As previously reported, Chad Gable’s WWE contract is set to expire imminently, per Fightful, barring an agreement between the two sides.
Dave Meltzer reported about the situation in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He wrote that WWE made an “excellent offer”, and AEW is interested if he hits the open market. Meltzer stated that “key people” in AEW are pushing Gable to Tony Khan.
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful confirmed that he has also heard about AEW having internal discussions regarding Chad Gable. There is no word on what the current status of his contract is or how his talks with WWE have gone.
WWE has announced that Chad Gable will challenge Sami Zayn for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle on June 15.
Gable has been featured on WWE RAW as a member of Alpha Academy. He is a former RAW Tag Team Champion, among other accolades. He has been with the company since 2013, and he moved to the main roster in 2016.
WrestleZone will provide more information as it becomes available.
