Sami Zayn has agreed to defend the gold at WWE Clash at the Castle.
In recent weeks, WWE Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn has been feuding with Chad Gable. The two stars have clashed on multiple occasions, dating back to April. Zayn retained the title against Gable and Bronson Reed at WWE King and Queen of the Ring. However, Gable has remained determined to win the gold.
Zayn came to the ring on the June 3 episode of WWE RAW. He called Gable out, but Alpha Academy answered instead. Maxxine Dupri read a message from Gable, who said that the only way to settle this was for Zayn to give him his title match. Zayn then agreed to defend the title against Gable at WWE Clash at the Castle.
Zayn proceeded to try to convince Alpha Academy to stand up for themselves. Gable then attacked Zayn from behind. Otis briefly defied Gable, but he slammed Zayn. Gable ended the showdown by standing tall and holding Zayn’s title.
