Tommy Dreamer Sees Roxanne Perez As The Next Mickie James

One of the Producers of TNA Wrestling, Tommy Dreamer, recently shared his thoughts on the current NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez. The ECW legend compared the self-proclaimed Prodigy to former WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James.

Recently while speaking on the Busted Open Radio podcast, former WWE Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer shared his thoughts on Roxanne Perez. He mentioned that he was so happy for her when she debuted on NXT Television. Dreamer also appreciated her current run as the ‘Heel’ Champion.

“[When Perez wrestled in TNA in early 2022], I just saw this amazing performer who was so young and so already TV ready,” Dreamer said. “Then all of a sudden, she shows up in NXT [a few months later]. I couldn’t be happier for her. And I compared her to she’s the next Mickie James. She has that personality, and this heel run that I see her having, I never saw that. Which is like when Bully [Ray] says like sometimes do the unexpected, and it works.” [H/T WrestlingInc.]

Tommy Dreamer does not see the purpose behind Media Scrums and Press Conferences

While speaking on a previous episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, Dreamer shared his thoughts on Media Scrums and Press Conferences. He mentioned that there is no real reason behind them. The only media conference that Dreamer saw some purpose in was the WrestleMania 40 conference which planted the seeds for the tag team match between The Bloodline (The Rock and Roman Reigns) and the team of Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

“I don’t know what purpose it serves,” Dreamer said. “I thought the media thing at WrestleMania served a purpose. That’s when the shove happened, all that stuff. I thought that was cool, the slap. But then it goes back to media … What great thing has happened from any media thing, except getting knowledge that really has just been focused on the negative?

“TNA [Rebellion], four wrestlers legit got hurt,” Dreamer said. “And I saw that fans were concerned about them. You know why? Because the locker [room] was concerned about them. I said, why don’t we go kinda like ‘Real Sports’ and give an injury report on these people, because people are concerned about people that they actually care about. And we put it out on social, and it worked. But it wasn’t a press conference.”
