Chris Jericho retained the gold at AEW Double or Nothing, but he had plenty of help.
At AEW Double or Nothing, Chris Jericho defended the FTW Championship against HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata. HOOK was aiming to regain the title, as Jericho beat him to win the gold at AEW Dynasty. Shibata and HOOK earned a title shot on the May 22 episode of AEW Dynamite, as they both submitted Bryan Keith in an Eliminator Match.
The match was under FTW Rules, and the competitors took advantage of the stipulations. They used dice, kendo sticks, and tables to inflict punishment on each other. Big Bill tried to tip the odds in Jericho’s favor by attacking HOOK. HOOK then neutralized him with a suplex through a table. However, Jericho had an ace in the hole, as a masked man, who revealed himself as Bryan Keith, attacked HOOK and Shibata. Jericho then clinched the win with the Judas Effect.
Jericho previously defeated Shibata to retain the title on the May 1 episode of AEW Dynamite.
