Bryan Danielson shares his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Jack Perry. He compares Perry’s suspension to WWE firing him in 2010.
Controversy has surrounded Jack Perry since he was involved in a backstage incident with CM Punk at AEW All In. The altercation led to Perry’s suspension and Punk’s termination. Perry remained absent from AEW until he returned at AEW Dynasty.
Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson commented on the situation. He brought up his WWE firing in 2010 as an example.
“We’re all put in weird positions, some of our own making and some that have nothing to do with us,” Bryan Danielson said. “It’s all about how you react to it. When I got fired [by WWE in 2010] for choking Justin Roberts and spitting in [John] Cena’s face, it turned out really well for me. But even in the moment, when you lose a steady paying job, I knew I’d land on my feet. I haven’t spoken with Jack. Is he mad about it? The name ‘Scapegoat’ implies he is. I don’t know his mindset, at least not yet.”

“I haven’t been around Jack enough to know how he’s going to react,” Bryan Danielson said. “I don’t know him well enough. That’s going to change once I step in the ring with him.”
