Bryan Danielson: I’m A Little Scared Of What Darby Allin Is Going To Bring To Anarchy In The Arena Match

Bryan Danielson says he’s “a little scared” of what Darby Allin will bring to the Anarchy in the Arena match.

At AEW Double or Nothing, Bryan Danielson and Team AEW will face The Elite in the Anarchy in the Arena match. The bout is known to feature plenty of chaos. Ahead of the bout, Danielson isn’t sure what to expect from some of the competitors, especially Darby Allin.

Speaking with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Bryan Danielson shared his thoughts about the Anarchy in the Arena match. He highlighted several participants, including Darby Allin.

“The wildness and anarchy in this match, it’s really awesome,” Bryan Danielson said. “You can be fighting out in the crowd with a world-class professional wrestler, like Okada. For as great as he is, we really don’t know what he’s like as a brawler.

“I kind of know what FTR will bring to the match, and I know what the Young Bucks will bring to the match. I’m not sure what Jack Perry will bring to the match. Honestly, I’m a little scared of what Darby is going to bring to the match. How about that flamethrower on Dynamite?

“I get really excited by not knowing how someone will react to a certain situation, and I’m really excited to see how Okada will react to this.”

Tony Khan On Darby Allin’s Return

During the AEW Double or Nothing media call, Tony Khan discussed Darby Allin replacing Eddie Kingston in the Anarchy in the Arena match. Kingston was pulled from the bout due to injury.

“The Darby thing was a case of great minds think alike,” he said. “I’ve spent a lot of time with him. We are at complete opposite ends of, sometimes I think of a very similar brain. [We] arrive at a lot of the same thoughts very differently. I think our interests outside of pro wrestling and the way we spend our time is very different. One thing we have in common is we’re both up late at night a lot, though. That’s when we probably do 90% of our talking.

“I reached out to him one night, and I think he read my mind. I texted him to ask, ‘Hey, how are you doing? How’s it going with the injury rehab?’ He responded immediately, ‘I’m doing good. I can fill in and substitute for Eddie Kingston as the partner on Team AEW at Anarchy in the Arena if you’d like.’ [Laughs] So he knew what I was thinking. Before I asked the question, he answered it.”
