AEW Dynamite Viewership Increases On 5/22, Demo Also Rises

AEW Dynamite saw an increase in viewership on May 22.

According to Wrestlenomics, 713,000 viewers watched the show on Wednesday night, drawing a 0.24 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic. The viewership is up from last week’s episode when 672,000 viewers tuned in. The demo also slightly rose from last week‘s episode, which drew a 0.23 rating in the same demographic.

Dynamite saw an increase in viewership this week despite facing stiff competition from an NBA Playoff game on TNT and an NHL Playoff game on ESPN.

What happened on AEW Dynamite this week?

This week’s show kicked off with Roderick Strong and Trent Beretta defeating Orange Cassidy and Will Ospreay in the opening contest.

AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland defeated Nick Wayne. Following the matchup, Strickland chased Christian Cage out of the building which led to the return of Prince Nana.

Timeless Toni Storm and Mariah May defeated Saraya and Harley Cameron in women’s action. Following the match, Serena Deeb attacked Luther, May, and Storm.

The main event saw Bryan Danielson defeat Satnam Singh by disqualification when Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Jeff Jarrett got involved. Following the match, the Elite attacked Danielson, and Tony Khan returned to lift Darby Allin’s ban from the building. Allin arrived with a flame thrower to save the day and close the show.
