EC3 Set To Defend NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title In AJPW Debut

EC3 prepares to defend the Ten Pounds of Gold.

Coming off his title defense against Mario Pardua and Mims at the NWA Chicago Fire event, EC3 now looks ahead to an international venture. On Wednesday, May 29, the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion will head overseas to defend his title against Ryuki Honda at All Japan Pro Wrestling’s Super Power Series at Korakuen Hall. This event will mark ECW’s official AJPW debut, as well as his first title defense in the country of Japan.

Ahead of his AJPW debut, EC3 delivered an impassioned message to the promotion’s fans (via X).

“This is the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion EC3. Happy, gleeful, excited, proud to announce I’ll be making my All Japan [Pro] Wrestling debut, May 29th, when I bring the Worlds Heavyweight Championship to Korakuen Hall. I plan to do great things, have great honor, have great respect for the fans of Japan because The Overman is over in Japan,” EC3 said.

EC3 first claimed the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at the NWA 75 pay-per-view in August 2023 by defeating Tyrus. Since then, EC3 has boasted successful title defenses against the likes of Jax Dane, Matt Cardona, and Silas Mason. He is also the current holder of the OVW National Heavyweight Championship and Premier Men’s Championship.

Elsewhere on the Super Power Series card, Kento Miyahara will challenge Yuma Anzai for the Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship. The End (Parrow & Odinson) will also be in action as they challenge Jun Saito and Ren Saito for the AJPW World Tag Team Championships.
