Afa Anoa’i Jr. On Jacob Fatu’s Potential In WWE: He’s A Killer, He’ll Go Right To The Top

Afa Anoa’i Jr. has high hopes for Jacob Fatu in WWE.

Last month, reports indicated that former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu had inked a deal with WWE. Given that he is a real-life member of the Samoan Dynasty, many fans are expecting Fatu to be integrated into the ongoing story surrounding The Bloodline in WWE. Whatever his creative direction may be, though, Fatu’s cousin Afa Anoa’i Jr. believes he will make a major mark.

“Jacob’s a killer, man. Jacob’s gonna go right to the top wherever it is that he’s going to go,” Anoa’i Jr. told MuscleManMalcolm. “No spoilers from me, but whenever he pops up on national TV, he’s gonna be a killer. He’s gonna be a top guy. He’s gonna be one to reckon with for years to come, that’s for sure.”

In the wake of Fatu’s signing with WWE, reports stated that he was expected to make his WWE television debut ahead of WWE’s Backlash premium live event. In the days, following, however, Mike Johnson of PWInsider noted that while there are plans in place for Fatu, WWE is now in no rush to debut him.

Alongside Afa Anoa’i Jr., Fatu is also the real-life cousin of Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Jimmy and Jey Uso.

Matthew Rehwoldt Afa Anoa'i Jr. The Last Match Interview

The Last Match

The Last Match is being advertised to be one of the biggest shows of all time that is a mix of theatre and professional wrestling. Adding to this, The Last Match will also have guest wrestlers popping up at every show. Recently, while speaking to Wrestlezone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard, former WWE Superstar Afa Jr. shared some insight on the Guest Wrestler Spot.

“The way the guest wrestler spot is designed is, you’re going to see pretty much new wrestlers. New guest wrestlers pop up pretty much every night. And that goes beyond just the guest wrestler. That also goes with some of the female talent that’ll be going into the ballet with Teeth. So there’s a lot of moving parts. And it’s something that keeps it fresh. So that, if you did see one show in Rochester, you come a couple of nights later, it’s going to be a different show. Different moving parts to it and stuff. So it’s a really cool experience.”

Anoa’i Jr. also shared that fans will be in for a surprise and also local talent will also be present. He mentioned that it will be a unique experience in every city they perform.

“Yeah, it’ll be a good blend of both. It’ll be uh… You’re more popular wrestlers, you’re more seasoned wrestlers mixed with your locals. So the local variety of the way that we’re booking it with other outside companies, such as MCW and House of Glory and stuff like that. It makes it really unique to each area, each city that we stop in.”

The Last Match is currently on tour. Some of the confirmed guest wrestlers so far include Dalton Castle, Kayla Sparks and Matt Cardona, who played Alexander Swagger in the original shows.
